General Rules

Registration to this site is free! We do insist that you abide by the following rules and policies detailed below.

  • Be Polite! - Do not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws. Be polite! Debate and heated discussions are okay, however posting rude, attacking, insulting, profane and uncalled for comments are not allowed and may result in the permanent termination of your account.

  • Marketplace Etiquette:

    • Advertising is only permitted in your blog and groups that allows its members to post advertisements. Do not post the same advertisement or self promotion in multiple forums or comments.

    • Please do NOT post derogatory remarks in the Sales/Auctions/Advertising threads OR attempt to "appraise" the items(s) for sale. Only post if you have questions about the Sale/Auction, or are interested in the item.Do not reply to posts in the advertising forums unless you are specifically interested in the product or service or having something valueable to add. Comments such as "too pricey for me", "can't afford that much", or "wish I had money" are not appreciated by the originating Sales thread poster. Do not reply and attempt to trash another members ad or say you've found better etc.Common sense goes a long way ... just put yourself in the shoes of the sales thread starter.

    • Multiple Sales Threads / Bumps. There is a limit of one sales thread per marketplace forum per day per member. Gratuitous self *bumps* are limited to one per 24 hour period. . We want to make it as fair as humanly possible to ALL MyiStop members.

    • As a site Staff, our primary focus is building and nurturing the MyiStop community. We respect that every site has their own unique qualities of good and bad, however we ask that you do not use MyiStop to promote, OR conversely, to depreciate other sites.

  • DO NOT SPAM Do not spam other members through private messages or any other way on the forum / comments. You may not use the forum, comments or private messaging to solicit members to come to your website or offer any products or services or for any other reason unless the member has specifically requested the information. If you receive any private messages or come across any message that you suspect may be spam please report it to a moderator or administrator. The following are a few examples of what is considered spam.

    • Very short posts that do not add value to the current post. Example: a post with only the words, "i dunno" or "lol cool" can be considered spam.

    • Double Posting. A double post is a back to back post by the same person. The second post may be considered spam. If you make a post and realize that you have made a mistake please use the edit/delete options, these are located to the right of each posted message. There are exceptions to this, but very few and it us up to the moderators to decide.

    • Posts that serve no purpose other than to up ones post count are considered spam. For example, if someone asks a question and you reply just to say you don't know the answer, this will be considered spam.

  • Your MyiStop account may not be transferred or sold to another party. Duplicate accounts are not permitted. If you need to change your username, please contact a staff member.

  • We strive to maintain a professional atmosphere on our site. Please do try to post in a manner that people can read and understand. Usage of pager-talk (text message style, ie: u and ur ) or "leet" talk is discouraged.

  • Please refrain from begging. If you are in need of funds, post an offer of legitimate goods or services for sale. Panhandling is not allowed.

  • Click fraud (encouraging clicks on pay per click advertising) is taken very seriously. Do not encourage it in any form on our site.

  • Shill bidding, the practice of artificially inflating bid prices on your own or a partner's auction may result in termination of your account.

  • When/If in doubt, please contact any site staff member or post in the Support forum.

  • If we follow these simple rules ... it helps to maintain a better community for all of us.

AdSense Revenue Sharing

What is revenue sharing?
If you have a Google Adsense account, you have the unique opportunity to share in the ad revenue generated on the MyiStop.com site. This is offered as a "thank you" for being a member of our community! By entering your Adsense Client ID, your own Google ads will have a chance to show up on content that you have participated in when other members are browsing the site. You can enter your Google Adsense Client ID in your My Account –> Edit –> Personal Information

Who pays me ?
Google pays you directly and you can follow your number of impressions (views), clicks, and total all from your Google AdSense account.
MyiStop.com doesn't have any control over your AdSense account.

How do I get paid?
You get paid when you get clicks on the targeted text ads in your postings. The amount you get paid can vary from 3 cents to 2 bucks a click. This all depends on how many advertisers are bidding on the keywords that are targetted on your postings.
Please note, you will be banned if you try to cheat or violate Google's TOS. This includes clicking or encouraging others to click on your ads.

What restrictions are there?
1. You must already have a Google AdSense account. If you do not have an account, you can learn more about getting an account at Google Adsense Homepage. Please note, you will have to have your own quality, content based site to apply to Google Adsense. You MAY NOT apply to Adsense using MyiStop.com as your website, or if you do not have your own website. See Google's site for terms and conditions.

2. Member Adsense code is displayed 75% of the time a page is viewed.
3. The content you post should NOT include
  • Violent content, racial intolerance, or advocacy against any individual, group, or organization
  • Pornography, adult, or mature content
  • Hacking/cracking content
  • Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia
  • Excessive profanity
  • Gambling or casino-related content
  • Content regarding programs which compensate users for clicking on ads or offers, performing searches, surfing websites, or reading emails
  • Excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant keywords in the content or code of web pages
  • Deceptive or manipulative content or construction to improve your site's search engine ranking, e.g., your site's PageRank
  • Sales or promotion of weapons or ammunition (e.g., firearms, fighting knives, stun guns)
  • Sales or promotion of beer or hard alcohol
  • Sales or promotion of tobacco or tobacco-related products
  • Sales or promotion of prescription drugs
  • Sales or promotion of products that are replicas or imitations of designer goods
  • Sales or distribution of term papers or student essays
  • Any other content that is illegal, promotes illegal activity, or infringes on the legal rights of others

Is this prohibited by Google's Terms?
Nope! As owners of MyiStop.com, we authorize you to run your Google Adsense code on our website. There is nothing in the terms to prohibit it. If things change that no longer allow us to continue this program, we will notify you.
